googlebar mozdev

In order to install googlebar on a 3.5+ firefox dist then follow these steps:

  1. download the original xpi: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/33
  2. renane .xpi to .zip or open with an archive extractor
  3. open install.rdf with a text editor
  4. locate: em:maxVersion=”3.0.*”
  5. change to em:maxVersion=”X.X.*” [for instance: em:maxVersion="3.5.*]
  6. pack everything back into the an xpi file
  7. install as normal.


Update:: For firefox 3.6 use googlebar 0.9.20.03
